Oskars delicatessen

Oskars is one of our favourite places to eat in Hermanus. They're one of the few places who have soy milk available, so we don't have to lug around our own. I love their decor. The pillar in the middle is covered with old sewing patterns and they have framed needlepoints on the walls. The benches on both sides of the shop have a selection of different cushions with mixed patterns.

They don't really have vegan options on their menu, but they're happy to customize. They have delicious salads that are big enough to share and can be vegan if you order it without the cheese. Our favourite is the roast vegetable salad. We usually get it with one of their delicious pumpkin seed rolls on the side.

On this occasion we went for breakfast and ordered toast with grilled tomato and mushrooms. They had these adorable shortbread buttons with the cappuccinos. The cookies weren't vegan, but who can resist a cute button cookie? Oskars has the bes cappuccinos in town.

Martinus recently started doing watercolour painting again and he got in some practice while we were there. He did this adorable painting of me and Jeff. You might have noticed it in my sidebar.

We always stop by the harbour when we're in town. It's whale season now and we often spot whales in the bay. It's pretty cool to be able to fit in a bit of whale watching between chores.
